Olympia Snowe, Republican Senator from Maine has made my day. She spoke out today about her desire to support the Senate Finance Committee’s health care reform package. From the Huffington Post:
“Is this bill all that I would want? Far from it,” said Snowe. “Is it all that it can be? No. But when history calls, history calls, and I happen to think that the consequences of inaction dictate the urgency of Congress to take every opportunity to demonstrate its capacity to solve the monumental issues of our time.”
Right on Olympia! That is the kind of attitude more people, especially those who are voting on these things need to have. We can’t just let things be as they are any longer. Let’s just hope she sticks with that attitude for the vote tomorrow and that a few others join her.

Yes she has become my hero as well. It is true inaction is ignorance.
She’s no one’s hero. The Baucus bill is crap, and they will not change it.
