The recession has taken a toll on countless individuals and businesses, and if you thought the bling of hip-hop was impervious to the effects of the financial crisis, you were wrong. The rapper Slim Thug, also known as the “Boss of all Bosses” (see, even bosses are feeling the pinch), appeared on the Daily Show this week to share the economic woes he has faced in these tough times. The poor guy has been forced to downsize his entourage, cut out extravagant craft services and transportation, and eliminate some of the trademark party imagery in music videos.
But Slim Thug is not going to take this recession lying down, reminiscing about Cristal champagne fountains; instead he has created a new video to help guide the hip-hop community through these troubled times. In “Still A Boss,” Slim Thug hilariously brags about his credit score, paying of his mortgage and saving money by buying champagne in bulk. Enjoy:
