Edible school gardens have been a hot topic lately, and on the recent episodes of the excellent web series Into the Field, Daron Joffe (aka Farmer D) has been showing the educational and nutritional importance of establishing a classroom garden. Farmer D is doing some remarkable work in Atlanta and all across the country, bringing sustainable food production to both high-profile celebrities and small-scale organizations and schools.
Check out the work he’s doing with Farmer D Organics, and watch this fun video, which makes me wish we had a garden at my elementary school:
And after the jump check out another video with Farmer D interviewing Nichole Lupo from the amazing organization Seeds of Nutrition, which is also helping schools develop gardening and nutritional programs.
