I recently had the chance to attend the awards ceremony for The Intelligent Use of Water Film Competition at The Getty Center here in Los Angeles, and was treated to a beautiful evening of creative and though-provoking films and discussion.
Sponsored by Rain Bird irrigation supplies with support from FilmL.A. and Questex Media Group, the competition highlighted the creative efforts of filmmakers from across the country helping to spread the word about the importance of water conservation.
After a sunset picnic overlooking the city, the invited guests joined the competitions finalists for a showing of the six films. The screenings were followed by a discussion of their process and the issues raised by the films, including tips on reducing your daily water consumption. You can watch the winners below and use the action link to learn more ways to save water everyday:
Jury Winner: Small Changes by Jennifer and Christopher Gandin Le
Green Industry Award Winner: More or Less by Mark Petersen
Audience Choice Award: The Saving Water Song by Keith Cantrell
