Editor’s note: This guest post is written by musician Melissa Etheridge in response to an earlier post from Salman Ahmad on Ring the Bells, a song they co-wrote for the nonprofit organization Search for Common Ground.

Working with Salman was an experience in enlightenment. I was lifted onto the path of unity by listening to his music and clearly understanding that music is the universal language of the soul. I wrote Ring The Bells as a call to those who are ready to take the road of peace and put away conflict and chaos forever.
