Google Invites You To Take Part In The U.N. Climate Summit Posted by Danny Jensen on September 24, 2009 at 3:15 pm

picture-12Google has launched a new YouTube channel inviting you to share your thoughts on climate change before and during the upcoming U.N. Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen (aka COP15) this December.

The project, a collaboration between Google and Denmark, offers a fantastic opportunity for everyone to take part in the global discussion, sharing your opinions and questions with other viewers as well as attendees of the conference.  The videos will also be shown on screens at the venue, and delegates will have the chance to record their own opinions and responses using a booth at the site.  Highlights of the video contributions will be aired during the COP15 CNN/YouTube TV discussion on December 15, giving participants the chance to share their voice with an even larger audience.  Check out the introductory video here:

In addition to the online discussion, Google has also invited the public to use Google Maps and Earth to explore visual presentations of greenhouse gas emissions by region as well as expected consequences of climate change, and take virtual tours on mitigation and adaptation aspects.  So, start exploring and then start recording and make your voice heard.  It’s going to take everyone’s involvement if we’re going to succeed in combating climate change.
