Improving school lunch is vital to creating a healthy future, and as the reauthorization of the Child Nutrition Act draws near, OneTray.org has launched two new videos to highlight the importance of developing a more direct connection between local farms and the federal school lunch program. Emmy award-winning producer Nicole Betancourt and Shalini Kantayya, top 10 director from Steven Spielberg’s “On The Lot,” have created two amusingly poignant short films for the national campaign, parodying Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and Mastercard’s “Priceless” commercials, to remind us what a difference a tray makes:

Healthy, local, sustainably produced school food can improve the health of kids, develop new marketing opportunities for farmers and support the local economy. Farm to School is a win-win for everyone.
