Cartoon aside: when the number of people who require ongoing medical care to keep them alive reaches a certain number, those that are well will be overwhelmed and not be able to care for the sick or themselves.
How close are we to that number?
I would like statistics on the number of people on all drugs by age and sex.
That would be more revealing that the so called life expectancy numbers that are really misleading because of pace makers and those being kept alive on drugs and machines.
