Gray wolves may have been taken off the endangered species list, but new studies showing that the wolves help protect against climate change by keeping elk from devouring wetland vegetation, may strengthen efforts to protect the animal.  Protecting the wolves may seem like a small piece of the climate puzzle, but the role they play is an excellent example of the intricate balance of ecosystems and prove that combating climate change will require efforts great and small.

Hopefully Senators McCain and Udall will keep this lesson in mind, along with others they witnessed while touring Rocky National Park, and take action to move our pending climate legislation along.  The Senators seem to have indicated that they think the health care debate should take precedence, and while that issue is certainly important, the U.S. should seriously attempt to make a move before the U.N. climate summit this December.  And hopefully Senators Boxer, Sanders, and Lautenberg will have a chance to observe the effects of climate change in Alaska, once they have had a chance to pay their respects to Sen. Ted Kennedy.

Take action below to help protect the gray wolves and help solve the climate crisis.
