On the Today Show today, Ann Curry talked to director Louie Psihoyos about his new documentary The Cove and what it took to complete a mission that many thought impossible: exposing the secret of Japanese fishing village Taiji.
Psihoyos explains the secrecy that shrouds the killing of 20,000 dolphins every year, and describes the film as a “love story thriller.” When Curry asks him what he hopes to achieve with the film, he says, using a Japanese term, “Outside pressure creating inside pressure for change.” He says that just a few people have the power to change the world. Check out the interview below.

I’m glad things like this are being exposed to the general population. It is so terrible, what is happening to these amazing, smart creatures. It breaks my heart.
very important. we need to see this movie.
also need all information so all mexican people that want to help
be able to do so.
thanks.
Such atrocities to such a beautiful creature. I will go to see the documentary to show my suport but I don’t think I could bear seeing any of them being killed.
This is horrible. The “secondary” horror is that the mercury levels in the dolphins is 500,000 times the “safe” level for human consumption. Does that alarm anyone else here?
