Last month I wrote about Emily Anderson’s plan to recreate the journey of Alice Ramsey who was the first woman to drive across the country 100 years ago, and the historical drive has finally come to an end. Emily and her driving companion Christie completed Alice’s Drive on July 9th at noon when they crossed the Golden Gate Bridge. Based on the blog entries, the trip in the 1909 Maxwell DA sounds like it was a fun and educational way to celebrate women’s history and achievements. Emily’s brother Bengt filmed the transcontinental experience and will release a documentary about the project in the near future. In the meantime you can read about the trip on their blog and check out this video of the last leg of the journey:Â
