Some sad news from the world of awesome music, as the Beastie Boys‘ Adam Yauch (whom we know as MCA) has been diagnosed with a form of cancer, and the band has had to cancel all shows and push back their album release as he undergoes treatment and recovery. He posted a video today on their website explaining the situation.
Well, the good news is that it’s very treatable, and doesn’t affect Yauch’s vocal chords, and the Boys should be back in business soon enough. However, Pitchfork has the canceled dates:
07-31 Liberty State Park, NJ - All Points West
08-02 Montreal, Quebec - Osheaga
08-06 Chicago, IL - Congress Theater
08-08 Chicago, IL - Lollapalooza
08-30 San Francisco, CA - Outside Lands
09-24 Los Angeles, CA - Hollywood Bowl
10-02 Austin, TX - Austin City Limits
So, those are all no-gos. best wishes to Yauch as he undergoes surgery and and treatment. Get well!
