If Food Inc. has whetted your appetite and you’re hungry to change our industrial food system, then for your next course I recommend checking out the film Fresh (and if you haven’t seen Food, Inc yet find a screening near you in the US and Canada). The film features many of the sustainable food heroes you may have met before, and explores the huge steps people are taking right now to create a healthier and more just food system. Filmmaker Ana Sofia Joanes has chosen an inspiring grassroots approach to distributing the film by inviting people to host small screenings in their homes and communities, instead of going the traditional multiplex route. The screenings are quickly growing in number and in size, allowing people from all over to have access to the film and begin discussing what we can do next. Not to mention the opportunity the screenings provide for delicious, locally-sourced potlucks. Check out the trailer below and use the action link to find out how you can host a screening or find one near you:

Great idea…we all need something to help us transition from panic to action.
