Heart of Stone looks to be a very compelling story about a high school in New Jersey that was riddled with gangs and violence until the community stepped it up a notch and gave the students a reason to see beyond what was right in front of them.
It seems to me that the hidden star of the film is the school’s prinicipal Ron Stone, a man determined to make a difference.  Often folks like Mr. Stone that think outside the box in order to reach kids in difficult situations get zero recognition or support, so I am excited to see a film that showcases what folks with his attitude and dedication can achieve.
The trailer below does a good job of setting up what looks to be a film about the power to change and work together.
Also of note is that on the film’s website the director Beth Toni Kruvant leaves her own email address and asks that folks email her to find out how they can help in the inner cities. In case you want to help, here is her email address: beth@goodfootageproductions.com
