Bill O’Reilly Bashes Obama’s Spirituality, Misses the Point Posted by Gina Telaroli on July 10, 2009 at 10:51 am

I normally try to ignore the Fox News pundits and their ridiculous commentary but this below rant from Bill O’Reilly is almost too much for even me.   Below O’Reilly complains that Obama isn’t religious enough because he, for example, wouldn’t fly over some kind of God and Country Festival in Iowa.  Give a watch:

First, I can’t tell you how happy it makes me that Obama is trying to keep government and religion separate.  Second, his attempting to keep religion and government separate is in no way an indication of how spiritual he is. It is simply an indication that he respects the right of every American to practice whatever religion they please.

It is an indication that he doesn’t want to make any citizen feel uncomfortable or like their president is ruling based on solely his own faith.

It is an indication that President Obama is, simply put, AWESOME.

I totally agree that the US should be a secular country and I support the separation of church and state.
Personally, I thought there was too much God and prayer in the inauguration of President Obama.

I don’t understand how O’Reilly can say that Obama is a purely secular figure. The Cairo speech and his talk on Reverend Wright proved that although Obama is not a “Bible-thumper.” He is a spiritual person, but understands that in this nation religion isn’t a personal freedom — not one to be dictated from the Presidential podium.
