I already gave Nike a shout out today by posting one of their commercials that I love but I’m actually really excited to be giving them another shout out. This one comes because of their awesome new Reuse-A-Shoe program.  Nike now has Reuse-A-Shoe collection centers and shoe drives in which they collect people’s old and used up Nike shoes. From here they ship them out to processing centers, take the parts they can use and recycle them to make new awesome things.
This is incredibly exciting and really great to see. I only wish I this had existed when I was more of a tomboy and only wore sneakers. Hopefully the good folks at Nike are doing outreach to families with active kids of all genders.
The number of shoes they have recycled is represented in the ticker below! Also, be sure to check out where the recycled shoes are ending up.
