The Elders, a group of 12 global leaders and human rights advocates chaired by Tutu, is hosting is a live webcast on their site tomorrow, Wednesday July 7 at 2 pm GMT (6 am PST/9 am EST). You can submit questions via the online form.
According to the website, The Elders, who collectively have nearly 1,000 years of experience, work in two broad areas: “promoting dialogue and peace building; and supporting efforts to alleviate human suffering, particularly caused by armed conflict, extreme poverty, injustice or intolerance.”
Its latest initiatives are no small undertaking, including achieving equality for women and girls, ending the atrocious humanitarian crises in Sudan and Zimbabwe, stabilizing peace efforts between Greek and Turkish Cypriots, ensuring that every human has rights around the world through the reintroduction of the Universal Declaration, and working to acheive peace and democracy in Burma/Myanmar including demanding the release of Elder Aung San Suu Kyi.
