After watching this week’s episode of Law and Order: SVU (”Hothouse”, originally aired 1/13/09), I realized that (in only 40 minutes of airtime) the show manages to cover a wide range of serious social issues, including human trafficking, child abuse, and prescription drug abuse.

While these issues pose a threat to thousands of people across the country, there are organizations fighting to help those in need.
