After watching this week’s episode of Law and Order: SVU (”Hothouse”, originally aired 1/13/09), I realized that (in only 40 minutes of airtime) the show manages to cover a wide range of serious social issues, including human trafficking, child abuse, and prescription drug abuse.
While these issues pose a threat to thousands of people across the country, there are organizations fighting to help those in need. One in particular, Teen Line, is a hotline staffed by teens who can discuss problems with other teens. Whether you’re struggling with abusive parents or a Provigil addiction, like some of the characters in this episode of SVU, or dealing with any other issue, like suicidal thoughts, alcohol abuse, or gang violence, you can call Teen Line at (310) 855-4673 or (800) 852-8336 to talk with a helpful and friendly teen.
