Bernie Madoff has been sentenced today to 150 years in prison for his multi-billion-dollar fraud scheme. Although federal probation department recommended that Bernard Madoff get 50 years in prison and Madoff’s lawyer has asked a judge to give his client 12 years, prosecutors are sending Madoff to 150 years behind bars. Prosecuting judge Denny Chin called Madoff’s $65 billion Ponzi scheme that devastated thousands of people “extraordinarily evil.”
Off topic, whenever I hear the term “Ponzi” I always think of Potsi and Fonzie from Happy Days. Anyone else with me on that one?
