Lydia Guevara, the 24-year old grandaughter of Che, will join forces with the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) this fall to promote vegetarianism for the group’s first South American campaign. While this may not be the revolution her grandfather had in mind, trying to reduce meat consumption in a country like Argentina, famous for it’s beef, is certainly a valiant effort.
The posters and print ads, featuring Lydia wearing nothing but the infamous Che beret and an ammunition belt of carrots, will surely turn some heads and will likely attract veggie converts. Of course, the campaign will do nothing to deter suggestions that vegetarians are communists, but hey, maybe that’s not such a bad thing after all. After all, as a part time vegetarian, I’m proud to be a part of a community garden. Viva la (veggie) revolution!

anyone related to that coward guevara makes me sick
Danny–By conflating healthy food practices with leftist causes and bloodthirsty celebrities, you are only strengthening Monsanto and ADM. The apparatchiks who dictate American farm policy would love nothing more than to dismiss us as a bunch of pinko commies.
James-I think you missed the humor in my post and failed to see that PETA, not I, that have chosen to co-opt communist imagery and celebrity to promote vegetarianism.
Only PETA would be proud to have someone like this on their team. I do not think PETA are Communist, I think they are border line terrorist.
WHAT are they putting into food to inspire children to MATE at such early ages??
Meat is good, and lots of it. Love leather and fur coats too
I am a leftist and a scientist and I think that PETA’s objectification of women, terrorism and stance on animal research is deplorable. When the president of an organization would not sacrifice one animal life to cure AIDS… well let’s just say I think PETA qualifies as extremist and not worthy of our support
The “vegan philosophy” is bs. Most of the research cited to promote it’s cause are from organizations, authors and “scientists” disguised as unbiased sources. Open your eyes people or follow these prescribed dietary habits at your own peril.
