I always loved the original Fame and how it allowed me to indulge in my secret fantasies of being a dancer and singer, so I don’t know what to make of the new version.

The trailer below is so shiny and features such pretty kids that there is no way it can mirror the magic and grit of the original.

Although I suppose in a way the film is actually a fairly accurate representation of how New York has changed. Sigh. 

Oh well, despite lack of grit I will probably leave the theater dancing, because I secretly always want to be dancing.

Also is anyone else a little disturbed that Frasier Crane and Lilith are in the same movie?
