Mark Horvath, creator of InvisiblePeople.tv, constantly amazes me with his ingenious use of social media to help give a voice to the homeless, so if you’re in Seattle tomorrow night, I strongly urge you to join him a Tweetup hosted by Whrrl to help kick off his nationwide tour. For the uninitiated (myself included), a Tweetup is an offline social gathering organized through Twitter, which can be followed online for those of you who can’t make the live event. I really love when online communities help facilitate face to face interaction, and if we are going to put an end to homelessness, making the most of connecting in both worlds will be vital.
So if you’re in town, be sure to rsvp for the event, aptly titled Social Media Can Save the Day, follow along with Mark’s Twitter feed, and learn more about the InvisiblePeople.tv U.S. Road Trip, which is also sponsored by Whrrl. And after the jump, be sure to check out Mark’s latest interview with Jennifer, who reminds us of the challenge of finding a single solution to a complex problem such as homelessness. Hopefully, with the help of people like Mark, we can begin to unravel those complexities.
