And now, your weekly six-pack of links to make you excited about what’s going on in the cybernet…

1. Uniformity must be nice

1 dress, 365 days to not only show the world that you can be sustainably fashionable, but to also raise money for school uniforms for slum children in India. Vote the daily shots of how she spins the same ol’ dress. All I can say is that though you might feel a bit icky in the same thing for a whole year, it’s a ton better than the Meat Dress.

2. Eggers on the Big Easy

Zeitoun, the new non-fiction book by Dave Eggers, is set to release at the beginning of July and is taking on the intense reality of life in post-Katrina New Orleans. It’s from the perspective of a Syrian-American man who wanted to weather the storm, and soon went missing.

3. Let’s celebrate good advertising

It’s award season in France, and a group is trying to get the famous advertising award ceremony Cannes Lions to add on a new category: the Humanitarian Lion. How are they gonna convince them? Ask mega CEOs. Until these emails get passed to the top, sign their petition.

4. Shake yourself up a little

In light of the miniquakes happening here in California, it’s about time we actually know what to do in case of a biggie. Take the quiz…some of the ways to respond seem surprising.

5. There are museums for trees now!

We’ve gotten to a point where there are museums for trees?! But this Brooklyn project actually sounds incredible: the new museum celebrates both the community and ecosystem by having each tree connected to a recording of local stories.

6. Food and Skin Color

A new Danish ad campaign uses food to get the point across about racial segregation, and I like it. It also makes me a tiny bit sad for the misfit onions, plums, and tomatoes.
