Ecorazzi posted their picks for Top 5 Vegan Celebrities of 2009. The list includes Ginnifer Goodwin, John Salley, Alicia Silverstone, Emily Deschanel and their number one pick, Ellen DeGeneres. I knew Ellen was a huge supporter of animal causes but I had no idea Ellen was a vegan. Ecorazzi makes a great point about Ellen saying “Ellen has perhaps the most attractive trait any celebrity could posses: the ability to speak-up for the causes she believes in without turning people off.” I totally agree. Ellen is so likeable so people want to hear what she has to say. And while I may personally be a meat eater (mostly free-range, I swear!) I really respect the ethical efforts of vegans and vegetarians (ugh, I wish I didn’t love hamburgers!)
