My personal stimulus plan has involved me playing the New York Lottery a few times a week. It’s not that crazy of an idea considering that last week twenty-three year old Neal Wanless from Todd County, South Dakota, one of the nation’s poorest places, bought a Powerball ticket that won him $232 million dollars!
The Wanless family was severely struggling, barely getting by selling scrap metal and they were behind nearly $4,000 in property taxes. Now after winning the lottery the Wanless family is far from poor, however Neal plans to stay at the ranch, he wants to keep working and use some money to buy some extra land and use some money to give back to others. Neal said “my family has been helped by the community and I intend to repay it back many times over.” Watch Neal’s story on the TODAY show:

All lottery winners should be this humble and this generous. And with that, I’m off to buy a Mega Millions ticket.
