Cookies For Good

I love cookies. So so so so much.
I was therefore quite excited to learn about The Khaya Cookie company.  Beyond making delectable shortbread cookies, they “hire previously unemployed women and men and turn them into highly skilled bakers. All Khaya Cookie Bakers participate in a Skills Training Program that gives them cross-training in every aspect of the business as well as personal budgeting and debt management.”
They have factories in the US and in South Africa and for every 1,500 boxes of cookies sold they create 1 new job in South Africa and 4 new jobs at their distribution center in Philadelphia, PA. Plus they have locally sourced ingredients.
Sounds good to me! Be sure to find out more about the company here!
