“One Ocean, One Climate, One Future” is the theme for this year’s World Ocean Day photo contest sponsored by the Monterey Bay Aquarium World Ocean. Winners and two runners up will be announced on June 11. I don’t think I can legally post the pics onto this blog, so I highly recommend you check out the Flickr page of all the amazingly gorgeous photo entries. I especially love the photo of the orange jelly fish by Lucy Chian—it’s absolutely amazing. And click here to see toycamshtr’s pic of an adorable baby otter, it just melts my heart.
The photo above is the 2008 Winner “Hawksbill in Cozumel, MX 2008″ by Becky Kell. Amazing, right?
These pics make me want to toss on some scuba gear and go snap some deep sea shots…too bad I’m scared of scuba diving and I’m a terrible swimmer, too.
