There is a great piece at The New Republic about how Darfur does not seem to be a priority for President Obama and his administration. The article explains how Obama has spoken very little on the subjuct of Darfur asking “maybe he is working furiously behind the scenes to get the aid groups back into the region, but, if that is the case, then he has failed badly, since Sudan is more or less standing its ground”. The article goes on to say how in 2007, then-candidate Barack Obama had much more to express about Sudan. Obama was quoted as saying “when you see a genocide, whether it’s in Rwanda or Bosnia or in Darfur, that’s a stain on all of us. That’s a stain on our souls.”
