In continuing with my 40 days of Sesame Street, wherein I post awesome Sesame Street videos that showcase the issues we care about at TakePart, I give you Sesame Street’s take on China.
Being that today is the 20th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square protests, I thought it would be a good day to focus on how Sesame Street introduced a generation of kids to the Chinese people and their country.
All the videos below come from Big Bird In China-a feature length film Sesame Street put together to teach kids about the rest of the world(there is also a Big Bird In Japan). It is worth noting that Big Bird in China was made in 1983, 6 years before the protests.

Awesome post. I’ll be on the lookout for more Sesame Street hot topics.
I wonder if China will ban this from citizens too?
