TED goes to State tomorrow, and it would be an understatement to say that I’m excited about being there when it happens for the first time. I’m a self-proclaimed TED fan, and what better way to begin to incorporate the most innovative cross-disciplinary ideas into government than a TED-sponsored event.

Unlike the usual TED setup, this event features a half-dozen speakers, with expertise in subjects ranging from market-based solutions for global poverty to the economic and social effects of the Internet to, er, sword swallowing.

Here’s the full list of presenters (from the press release): social-media analyst Clay Shirky, author of Here Comes Everybody; philanthropist Jacqueline Novogratz, CEO of the Acumen Fund; futurist Stewart Brand, author of the Whole Earth Catalog; economist Paul Collier, author of The Bottom Billion; and data visionary Hans Rosling, Karolinska Institutet Professor of International Health. Ambassador Elizabeth Frawley Bagley, the Department of State’s Special Representative for Global Partnerships, will introduce the speakers, and Chris Anderson, Curator of TED, will moderate a question and answer session.
