At age 17 Debbie Gibson was the youngest female to write, produce, and perform a Billboard Hot 100 # 1 hit single in the USA with her song “Foolish Beat.” Now Gibson is trying to help other young artists achieve their creative goals with her Electric Youth program, committed to offering the highest level of arts education for serious young performers through it’s summer and winter camps, songwriting intensives and recording bootcamps.
Considering spending on arts education is usually the first to go when schools start to slash their budgets, I’m so glad people like Gibson are using their artistic success to help others. Check out this LookToTheStars.org video from an Electric Youth event.
