If you ever told me I’d be interested in seeing a film with Mariah Carey in it I would have probably laughed in your face. That being said, I don’t think I would mind seeing Precious. It isn’t the type of film typically see, but it seems to me to be quite original.
Also the main character looks to be pretty dynamic and one of those rare people who define the film they are in.Â
I can’t help but wonder how the film will end. I hope it doesn’t cop out and go for the easy ending, I’d much prefer reality with a sense of hope.

The movie, I think, is based on the novel “Push” by Sapphire - copyrighted in May 1996. A raw, heartbreaking novel full of hope. It angers you and makes you sad and hurt, but is uplifting for the hope therein. I read it many years ago, re-read it last month and still alternately cry and get angry. A very moving book - hopefully not ased on the real life of a child. Considering some of the parents we read about, I’m not too hopeful that this was not a real child. So sad. If you are interested, find it and buy it. Same for the book by Cupcake.
