Thom Yorke of Radiohead Wants You to Sign Global Warming Petition Posted by Andy Kondrat on May 17, 2009 at 2:19 pm

Let’s catch up with former awesome vegetarian of awesomeness Thom Yorke of Radiohead, shall we? I think this is a good idea mainly because Yorke popped up on Radiohead’s blog on Friday to discuss a topic very near and dear to TakePart’s heart, global warming. Apparently, he’s against it, too! Small world. In a post titled “for US citizens (mostly),” Yorke requests that you sign a petition to stop global warming. He writes:

an online petition with over a million names.. including President Obama.
currently there is talk of a climate change bill in the US similair to the one we have passed in the UK.
thats a BIG deal.
but i have been reading how the oil industry is investing millions of dollars in a PR campaign against it!
how utterly dumbass is that? how do these people look their children in the eye?

He then tells us he’s done with his soapboxing for the day. So, in case you happen to think global warming is a bad thing, you can sign the petition right here, right now! And, because I think we should probably have some Radiohead awesomeness at the end of this post, go nuts with this video. “Idioteque.”

Global warming started at the end of the last ice age. As the pleistocene end glaciers abated, North American Southwest lakes dried, converting semitropical deep fresh water lakes to desert. None of this “global warming” had anything to do with Man. We live on a water planet which has awsome capability to buffer the temperature and climate. When it gets hot, more water evaporates, white clouds cover the planet reflecting the sun’s energy, causing global superstorms, which initiate another ice age. Al Gore is set to profit from his fear mongering with millions of dollars in unearned money from Cap and Trade nonsence. Anyone stupid enough to try to manufacture something will give their profits to Carbon Cult fear mongerers. It is normal that the planet shifts between hot and cold, current hot being caused not by man, but by the earth itself. We are undergoing another magnetic pole shift (the sun does this every eleven years) which influences plate techtonics. There are hundreds of active volcanos now, underwater ones more importantly warming the oceans (melting Antarctic ice in contact with the ocean, Antarctic land ice is getting deeper from more evaporation from the oceans). Watch the movie “The Day After Tomorrow” to see and accurate representation of a global superstorm. The Wolly Mammoths frozen in Siberia had green grass and flowers between their teeth, and were frozen so fast and severely cold that the meat in their gut was preserved (minus 200F or lower). Mix politics, obscene unearned profits for a few, global power grabbing, fear mongering the masses, and scientists prostituting their degrees for a religious cult (carbon god) and you get GLOBAL WARMING. The same thing happened with the antinuclear movement back half a century which shut down half of the U.S. reactor projects (France went ahead with their projects, and now provide clean power to much of Europe.). The Uranium is already on the planet, it is already producing Radon gas and other products of radioactive decay, we just need efficient means of returning the radioactive materials safely back into subduction rock when we are finished with it. As the Pacific Rim of Fire accelerates it’s current awakening, the first four or so giant eruptions will probably trigger the next ice age (and global warming carbon worshipers will freeze to death).

There is a climent warming bill being discusted in congress right now. It is important to act now and get the bill past the congress and to the president.
