If so what did you think?
If not check it out below:
I think, as per usual, Obama speaks of a world where we talk through our differences and work towards a more unified future. I was somewhat disgusted that people would boo him. First, he is our President and second, he is guest and a speaker at a university commencement, and that deserves some respect. I’d like to believe that if George W. Bush spoke at a graduation I attended that I would respect the situation enough to not disrupt the speech.
Also - as someone who was raised Catholic I can’t help but point out the Democrats and Obama in particular really embody Catholic beliefs better than most Republicans. Obama is for peace, he is for helping the weakest in our society, he is for open dialogue and debate and he is for life - he is for life through diplomacy over war, through helping those society has left behind, through caring about the environment and also through his belief that we need to find ways to cut back on unwanted pregnancies and abortions through educating and helping young women. And all of those things represent the best of the Catholic faith - or at least I think so.
