A few days ago I posted about Molly the Cow and her miraculous escape from a slaughterhouse.  And in the spirit of Molly’s escape the Huffington Post has put together a list of the top animals escapes of 2009.

My favorite? When 180 pigs escaped on their way to a bacon factory after the truck they were in got in an accident!  The pigs ran free for a little while (see the amazing photo HERE) but things being what they are, the pigs were rounded up and sent to the bacon making place.

And while this story has a sad ending, the image of all the pigs running free says so much about the state of the meat industry around the world.
