Oprah Features Puppies Behind Bars Posted by Danny Jensen on May 15, 2009 at 7:46 pm

On the Oprah Winfrey Show today actress Glenn Close featured an amazing organization called Puppies Behind Bars, which helps train prison inmates to raise puppies to become service dogs for disabled veterans, the elderly and explosive detection canines for law enforcement.  This amazing program not only provides vital assistance to all these groups, but also helps rehabilitate the incarcerated individuals helping to train the dogs.  The benefits of this program are immeasurable, providing much needed assistance to so many people, and I hope that Oprah’s spotlight will help raise more support for such a worthy endeavor.
