Happy Belated No Diet Day! Posted by Giulia Rozzi on May 8, 2009 at 2:29 pm

Woops, how did I miss this one? Wednesday May 6th was International No Diet Day. The tradition started in 1992 when a British feminist anmed Mary Evans Young wanted to raise awareness of fat-phobia and size discrimination, fight the idea of the ‘’right’’ or ‘’ideal’’ body shape; and honor the victims of eating disorders and weight loss surgery. This days its symbol is a blue ribbon (similar to the red ribbon of the World AIDS Day).

Although No Diet Day has passed, you can still celebrate by working to develop a lifelong healthy, happy relationship with food and exercise, don’t under-eat and don’t over-eat, and always be kind to your body. You only have one body, take good care of it!
