Rainforests benefit the entire planet by storing water, regulating rainfall, protecting biodiversity, and perhaps most importantly they absorb one fifth of man-made carbon dioxide emissions. Unfortunately, deforestation continues to occur at an alarming rate, and as I mentioned yesterday, the burning of those forests is one of the biggest contributors to climate change. To help protect this invaluable resource, The Prince of Wales has launched the Prince’s Rainforests Project, which aims to raise international awareness of this ongoing problem, and help provide incentives to discourage the destruction of the forests.
A series of videos have been created for the campaign in which The Prince of Wales appears alongside his sons and an array of well-known faces including Harrison Ford, the Dalai Lama, Daniel Craig and Robin Williams. And let’s not forget Kermit!
Check out the action links below to get involved in the Prince’s Rainforests Project and create your own frog video!
