Chia Obama

As if you weren’t already sick enough of endless Obama merch, now there is a Chia Obama? Yes it’s true, in honor of our 44th US President, the Chia Pet company presents the Special Edition Chia Obama. The site proclaims“Can you grow one? Yes you can!” Is the Chia Obama a harmless political novelty? (Much like the Jimmy Carter nut cracker my parents owned) Or is it offensive? Walgreens removed the “Chia Obama” from its stores in Tampa and Chicago, saying the ceramic-plant figure of the chief executive is inappropriate for sale after getting complaints from people that they thought it was racist. What do you think? Personally, I’d be flattered if Chia came out with a “Chia Giulia”, but that’s just me.
