There are always a handful of incredible things online that just, well, fall through the cracks. Now (and on every Thursday) I’ll be posting stuff that makes me excited about life and gets me thinking about the big blue earth. Here is the first edition.
1. Save water with an inflatable shower curtain.
A Saint Martins College student created a rather interesting way to prevent yourself from taking too long of a shower: have your shower curtain slowly suffocate you.
Log on to Folia and keep track of what you put in the earth. You can also check out what others are planting, swap seeds, and vent about your dying basil.
3. Toothless smiles are the best.
A photographer went to India earlier this year for the 50th anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day, and captured beautiful, poignant portraits of refugees waiting to meet the Dalai Lama for the first time.
The Italian wing of Medici Senza Frontiere (Doctors Without Borders) has 3 new ads that are so so powerful: “We cannot wave the white flag. We need that too.” Oh man, I love that organization.
5. Got an idea, need a poster?
If you and your favorite organization need a little more exposure, present your idea to Design Action Collective + Inkworks Press. They’ll award their fave-o idea by designing and printing 1,000 full-color, tabloid-sized posters for free. Better get on it - applications are due in a week.
6. The other invisible children.
A street campaign in Melbourne, Australia has this suffocating mannequin pinned against a wall on a busy street. It sure makes you stop, doesn’t it?

I have come along an info and seen it shortly in action. It is a most effective Water purification system which is fully operated by Solar power. I have asked for a Video clip and they have told me to send me one. Is this maybe of interest for you?
