If you are in the 80(ish)% of the US population that’s holding down the capitalist fort of America, then your Earth Day/Week will be spent at the office. While it might be nice to hear tips on how to appreciate beautiful Mother Earth and plant a self-watering tomato garden, you should probably save all that for the weekend. Start doing something during your 9 to 5 to take part.

Pimp your printer
The little engine-that-could in the copy room is a known tree killer and ink guzzler. Help make it a little nicer to our planet: print only the stuff you need, decrease those excessive 1″ margins and use the rather stylish EcoFont. (via Mother Jones)

Throw yourself a party because you recycled
Take those meeting notes that you’ll honestly never read again and make a beautiful paper hat. Let’s face it, every business suit needs a little flair. Download the guide here and check out their Flickr stream.

Erasable paper, say what?!
Yes, it’s true. Xerox is living in the year 2080 and found the secret formula to making erasable paper. The printed images last just a day but the paper can be used again and again, reducing office paper use a million-fold. Though it’s only in the preliminary state, check out Xerox’s plan on how they’re gonna pull this off.

And, of course, don’t forget to carpool.

Did you know that during World War I 80% of the vegetables our nation consumed came from o urban “victory” gardens? Eighty percent, for crying out loud! Now THAT is something to shoot for this earth week.
