I adore Brigitte Mira so so so much. She was an incredible German actress and if she was still alive she would have been 98 years old today (she passed away in 2005).
I know Brigitte primarily for the extraordinary work she did with Rainer Werner Fassbinder (my favorite director). I can’t imagine a world where she isn’t in his heartbreaking film Ali : Fear Eats the Soul. She also stole the show in Mutter Küsters’ Fahrt zum Himmel (Mother Kusters Goes to Heaven) and took Berlin Alexanderlatz to the next level. Other Fassbinder films on her resume include Satansbraten (Satan’s Brew), Chinesisches Roulette (Chinese Roulette), Angst vor der Angst (Fear of Fear), Faustrecht der Freiheit (Fox and his Friends) and Wie ein Vogel auf dem Draht (Like a Bird on a Wire).
If you know what is good for you you’ll check out one of her films today. In fact, I think you should takepart and check out Ali : Fear Eats the Soul right now! Watch the clip below if you need convincing.
