Carbon dioxide capturing schemes attempt to justify the continued burning of fossil fuel, and the latest plan aims to bury the greenhouse gas a mile beneath the ocean floor.  I realize that transitioning to a clean fueled future will take some time, and that we need to develop some temporary solutions to deal with the pollution we currently create, but I’m skeptical that pumping carbon dioxide beneath the earth’s surface won’t create problems down the road.  Supposedly the gas would remain trapped under the weight of mud and water, but it sounds to me like we’re sweeping our problems under the rug and fooling ourselves into thinking we can continue to burn fossil fuels.  The gas may stay down there for a while, but I imagine eventually it will find it’s way back up into the atmosphere.  Grimly speaking, we humans may not be around for that eventual re-emergence, unless we make a faster and more honest switch to clean fuel.  Let me know your thoughts in the comments section.

I live in Israel and I am going to devote all life to problems of ecology and to be on guard of cleanliness of our planet. I study in Tel-aviv’s university, after one year, I have understood that means for a life do not suffice. I live with mother, she is invalid. To us it is very heavy. Probably there are any funds of the help to students-ecologists?I shall be very glad to take all efforts in improvement of an environment.
