Imagine: The Peace Ballad of John and Yoko opened earlier this month at The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and I had the good fortune of getting to check out the beautiful exhibition the other day. I must admit that I had fallen victim to the anti-Yoko Ono sentiments shared by many Beatles fans, but the story told through the art created by her and John Lennon’s art forced me to reconsider the relationship blamed for breaking up The Fab Four. The messages of peace and love that John and Yoko shared with the world through music and art were critical for such a tumultuous period of history, and the need for those messages continue to be vital today. One of the videos featured in the exhibition featured a recently animated interview with Lennon recorded by a 14 year old fan who snuck into the former Beatles hotel room in 1969:
takepart by supporting the Instant Karma campaign to end the violence in Darfur.
After the jump check out a video about Imagine: The Peace Ballad of John and Yoko, and if you happen to be in Montreal go check out the actual exhibition.
