César Chávez was a Mexican American  labor leader, civil rights activist and farm worker, who co-founded the National Farm Workers Association (which later became the United Farm Workers.) He was an inspiration to many people and he would have been 82 years old today.

takepart with the United Farm Workers of America and take some time to read some quotes of his below - it’s a great way to start you day:

“Once social change begins, it cannot be reversed. You cannot uneducate the person who has learned to read. You cannot humiliate the person who feels pride. You cannot oppress the people who are not afraid anymore. We have seen the future, and the future is ours.”

“Preservation of one’s own culture does not require contempt or disrespect for other cultures.”

“You are never strong enough that you don’t need help.”
