So you may have noticed that we here at TakePart are really excited about Participant’s upcoming film Food, Inc.
I personally can’t wait to see the film - and now it turns out I won’t have to wait tooo long and beyond that that I will get to see the film at one of my most favorite New York City movie theaters - Film Forum! Food, Inc. open there on June 12th!
Film Forum has some of the best repertory programming in the city - for example right now they are screening Costa-Gavras’ Z in celebration of the classic film’s 40th anniversary.  They also premiere some of the best films I have saw last year - including Wendy and Lucy, Silent Light and Encounters at the End of the World. Not to mention that they have the best popcorn in the city!
I am quite pleased that they will also make it possible for me and many New Yorker’s to see Food, Inc. For those that don’t know much about Food, Inc. it “lifts the veil on our nation’s food industry, exposing the highly mechanized underbelly that’s been hidden from the American consumer with the consent of our government’s regulatory agencies, USDA and FDA.”  It features interviews with the most innovative and knowledgeable food experts and looks at where our country is headed when it comes to the food we eat and the policy behind that food.
takepart to learn more about and to get involved with the social action campaign behind Food, Inc.
Also go after the jump for a trailer to the film.
