Last week I blogged about Rihanna’s decision to stay with her alleged abuser Chris Brown and I said “I hate to say whether or not these two should or should not be together, it’s really no ones business.” Well, I lied. I don’t hate to say it. I was trying to be polite but no, I think Rihanna is not only destroying her career image but also her self esteem by staying with an abusive boyfriend. And Oprah doesn’t think Rihanna and Brown should be together either, saying on her show Friday “If a man hits you once, he will hit you again. He will hit you again”.
As usual, I agree with everything Ms. Winfrey says.
And speaking of celebrities and fighting domestic violence, takepart
help Avon and Reese Witherspoon, honorary chair of the Avon Foundation, support domestic violence programming by purchasing a Women’s Empowerment Bracelet and or Women’s Empowerment Necklace. 100% of the net proceeds are donated to the Avon Empowerment Fund to end violence against women.
