There are some people who like to collect movies. They will buy any and every movie they think they might like, and although they may never watch said movies more than once, they will continue to build their collection. I must confess: I am not one of these people. Don’t get me wrong – I love movies, but there are so many amazing films out there to be seen, that I would rather see a movie once (in theaters or with the help of Netflix ), and move on. With some notable exceptions. There are some rare films that are just too good to watch once, and too precious not to own. The film Etre Et Avoir (To Be and To Have) is one such film. Before I say anything else about it, take a look at this clip:
Seriously, how can you not want to see more?!
The film is a documentary focusing on a one-room school house in a rural village in France. It immerses us in the lives of teacher George Lopez and his twelve students aged 3-11 as they learn from each other over the course of an academic year. Words cannot do justice to describe this teacher’s special way with his students – you have to see it for yourself. And see it you should. The movie is pure magic.
takepart and watch this gem of a film.
