NY Gov. Paterson May Increase Emissions Allowances Posted by Jon Popham on March 6, 2009 at 9:32 am

patersonIn a baffling move, New York Governor David Paterson is considering increasing the allowances on emissions from power plants.  According to media reports, Paterson met with energy executives privately last fall and assured that them that he would make the shift, which overrules his Department of Environmental Conservation and puts New York State at odds with a 10-state pact which seeking reduced greenhouse gas emissions to combat global warming.

Does this guy have no idea which way the tide is turning on this issue?  Coming out with a move like this at this point in history, in New York no less,  is indicative of a politician that is at best clueless and frankly stinks of impropriety on the behalf of special interests.  I guess with an approval rating hovering at 26%, the lowest in the history of polling of New York State Governors, perhaps Gov. Paterson doesn’t even care.In case he does care about votes though, you can takepart by contacting the office of New York Governor David Paterson and telling him he should decreasing the amount of emissions allowed by power plants in the State of New York, not increasing them.
