On the rare occasions I’ve watched CNBC since its inception in 1991, I’ve often been struck by the over the top, arrogant, downright cocky tone put off by the talking heads on the network. As The Daily Show clip aptly shows, the bloviation wasn’t limited to a one off event on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, it spread far and wide across a channel that in many ways was emblematic of the scorched earth culture of American finance that has now left the economy in tatters.
